The Stroke Action London(SAL) was established in March 2000 as an outcome of the 1999 Department of Health funded Mary Seacole Nursing Leadership Award project 'Developing nurse led evidence based stroke prevention' in an acute hospital setting. The project provided valuable lessons about client involvement and the modification of stroke risk factors. SAL has grown steadily to become an influential voice for stroke survivors and those at risk of first ever stroke.
